Secrets of the Third Reich:
Herrlingen by Ulm

Erwin Rommel was born on Nov. 15, 1891 in Heidenheim, Germany. In 1910, he entered the army and served as an officer in World War One. After serving with distinction, in 1939-1940 and leading the famous German Afrikakorps in 1942-1943, Rommel was given the command of Army Group B. As early as spring of 1944, Rommel was in contact with members of the German Resistance in military circles. Although he was not directly involved in the assasination attempt on Hitler in July, 1944, his fate was sealed. When given the alternative of going to military trial, Rommel chose suicide on October, 14, 1944 in Herrlingen by Ulm.
