D-Day & Battle of the Bulge: London and Southern England During World War II, the city of London paid an incredibly high price. German air-raids over southern England (1940/41) resulted in the deaths of over 10,000 people; with another 17,000 wounded. Miracuously, St. Paul's Cathedral survived the war in the middle of a wasteland that was once the city. Today, London is famous for the impressive Imperial War Museum, among plenty of other fascinating historical, cultural and scenic attractions and museums. Our WWII Tour of London will include these sites and many others, including the Imperial War Museum of Aviation in Duxford, the famous Bovington Tank Museum, Ike's D-Day Headquarters at the Southwick House and Portsmouth. |
