Secrets of the Third Reich:
Dachau Concentration Camp

We spend a half-day at the Dachau memorial site on our way from Nuremberg to Munich. A comprehensive guided tour of the memorial site includes walking through a reconstructed barrack hut, with a detailed explanation of what ‘camp life’ was like for the prisoners. We also will hear about the conditions of the camp, how they changed, and about the liberation of the camp by American soldiers at the end of the war. Information about the establishment of the memorial site, the various religious memorials and chapels as well as the convent is also included during the tour. Our visit concludes with a documentary film and free time for personal reflection.
