Secrets of the Third Reich:
Hitler's Alpine Fortress at Berchtesgaden
We save the best scenery for last. Here, in the majestic beauty of the Bavarian Alps, is where it all started. Not many people realize that Adolf Hitler spent a great deal of time at Obersalzberg Mountain long before he became the Dictator of Germany. During our four days here, we extensively tour the Obersalzberg to discover the areas connections to Hitlers past. Our hotel was the former State Security building of the alpine headquarters area; a stones throw from Hitlers Berghof. The highlight of the tour is a guided tour up to the Eagles Nest, where youll marvel at the alpine panorama. We also allow time to experience the different attractions of nearby Berchtesgaden, such as the exciting underground Salt Mines and spectacular Lake Königsee.
