Secrets of the Third Reich:
Hitler's Alpine Fortress at Berchtesgaden

We save the best scenery for last. Here, in the majestic beauty of the Bavarian Alps, is where it all started. Not many people realize that Adolf Hitler spent a great deal of time at Obersalzberg Mountain long before he became the Dictator of Germany. During our four days here, we extensively tour the Obersalzberg to discover the area’s connections to Hitler’s past. Our hotel was the former State Security building of the alpine headquarters area; a stone’s throw from Hitler’s Berghof. The highlight of the tour is a guided tour up to the Eagles Nest, where you’ll marvel at the alpine panorama. We also allow time to experience the different attractions of nearby Berchtesgaden, such as the exciting underground Salt Mines and spectacular Lake Königsee.
